Welcome to our 79th year of fishing & fun! 

We truly appreciate your business and look forward to seeing you this fishing and boating season.

For more than 78 years, C. J. Smith Resort has provided everything needed to enjoy a day of fishing and boating on the beautiful Chain O' Lakes in northern Illinois.  C. J. Smith Resort is a family owned and operated business since 1929.  We believe in providing exceptional service and competitive prices to our valued customers and guests. 

Open 7 days a week, April 1st thru November.  Hours:  6:30 am until 6:00 pm, except Thursday: 6:30 am - 3:00 pm.

  Jim and Mike with their 5 lb. walleye caught on large fathead minnows. Bill lands a 30 inch 10+ pound catfish on 6 lb. line!  Tom with his girls - Nicole, Kristin and Emma - catching bluegills on Columbus Day.  Sandy and Tony with two awesome bass from Bluff Lake! Mickey and Lucan have quite a catch with catfish, bass, bluegill and perch!

            

Mike proudly holds up his 9 lb catfish. Ron and Tony with a cooler full of bluegill and crappies. These guys claimed they "won" until their buddies came in with even more fish. And the winner is . . . I think a "fish off" will have to determine the real winner!  But who had to clean all of these fish?

           

  Floyd says he caught the biggest catfish during his recent stay at our guest house. - his friend William does NOT agree!!!!    John holds up his huge catfish caught on Petite Lake on stink bait.    Joe and Kermit do it again - beautiful catfish as well as a nice bunch of bluegills.    Bass stocking at our resort - 5,000 more!!    Back in Business - Coolers full of stripers by the bridge after the flood!
